Students studying to be Ordained Local Ministers in the Church of Ireland undertake the Certificate in Christian Theology and Practice (CCTP) as Part 1 of their training. Successful completion of the CCTP is a pre–requisite to entering Part 2 which will consist of a further 18 months learning in a context based educational programme with 6 modules relevant to ministry. Towards the end of each course in Part 2 a reflective session will be arranged. To enrol in the CCTP for this purpose, you must have the approval of your Bishop.
Collaborative ministry is a key element of Ordained Local Ministry. Studying alongside other students both on this pathway, and on other ordained, reader and adult discipleship pathways, builds community and offers essential preparation for ministry in a diverse church characterised by cooperation between lay and ordained members.
