Leading intercessions in Church
Dr Christina Baxter, former Principal of St John’s College, Nottingham, led a fascinating seminar on the theme of ‘Leading Public Intercessions’ on 10th February. Addressing a combined group of clergy, ordinands and lay people (approximately 70 in all), Christina taught and demonstrated how intercessions can be led creatively and in such a way that others learn how to pray effectively in public. The group enjoyed the presentation immensely and went away encouraged and inspired for leading intercession in their own parish. The event is one of a number geared towards the wider church and aimed at facilitating lay ministry. We hope to have Christina back for some other special events later in the year.
