Lecturer in Systematic Theology
The Church of Ireland Theological Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Revd Chris MacBruithin as Lecturer in Systematic Theology. Chris studied in CITI from 2013–2016, obtaining the MTh award with Distinction, and he is completing a PhD through Lambeth which draws on the philosophical hermeneutics of Paul Ricoeur, N.T. Wright’s realised eschatological theory and Jürgen Moltmann’s ‘theology of hope’. In addition to teaching on the various ministerial pathways which CITI currently delivers, Chris will be assuming the role of Co–ordinator for Ordained Local Ministry. Welcoming the appointment, Revd Canon Dr Maurice Elliott commented, ‘Chris MacBruithin is a distinguished former student of CITI, and we are delighted that he has been appointed to this important new role. CITI’s brief has expanded significantly over recent years, and we are grateful to the RCB for making it possible to recruit an additional member of the faculty teaching team. Chris brings an impressive range of personal qualities, a strong research profile and a rich experience of pastoral ministry. We warmly welcome him, Sarah and Noah into the CITI community.’
