Four members of the staff of Saint Michael’s College, Llandaff, visited the Church of Ireland Theological Institute recently to discuss academic and curriculum developments in ordination training in the Church of Ireland.

The Revd Canon Dr Peter Sedgwick is the Principal of Saint Michael’s College, near Cardiff, which is the theological college for training ordinands in the (Anglican) Church in Wales.

He was accompanied by the Revd Stephen Adams, Dean of Ministerial Training, who organises placements up to ordination for all students, and training after ordination of all clergy; Dr Paula Yates, Dean of Non–Residential Training, up to ordination; and Mrs Judith Lewis, Business Manager.

During their visit, the staff of Saint Michael’s College met the Revd Dr Maurice Elliott, Director of CITI, and three members of the CITI academic staff – Canon Patrick Comerford, Dr Katie Heffelfinger, and the Revd Patrick McGlinchey.

Dr Sedgwick said it “was a very fruitful exchange” and he “deeply appreciated” the “openness and willingness to engage in questions” during the visit. He told CITI staff: “We were very impressed with what you have achieved.” Dr Sedgwick also expressed the hope that there could be more exchanges between the two colleges.
