‘Fit for the Purpose’ weekend in CITI attracts 42 students
Students, facilitators and course leaders at the ‘Fit for Purpose’ weekend in the Church of Ireland Theological Institute
A total of 42 students have taken part in the first weekend of two new training courses the Church of Ireland Theological Institute.
On a recent weekend, 23 men and women from nine dioceses embarked on the one–year Foundation Course programme, while 19 started the second cycle of reader training which lasts for two years.
The weekend, entitled ‘Fit for the Purpose’, took as its theme a biblical and personal exploration of different matters to do with vocation.
The main facilitators were Dr Christina Baxter, former Principal of Saint John’s College, Nottingham; the Revd Dr Andy Angel, Vice–Principal of Saint John’s College, and Director of Extension Studies; and the Revd Dr Maurice Elliott, Director of the Church of Ireland Theological Institute.
